Key West Boat Show - Set your calendars, the last weekend in February, for three days it's the Key West Boat Show & Nautical Market. It's a Friday Saturday, and Sunday of boating festivities and vendors. See the new stuff and buy some accessories or something big for your boat. Heck, even buy a boat if the mood strikes you and the option is there. All this set to a backdrop of live steel drum music on Saturday and guest appearance by Captain Jack Morgan. The Rotary Club of Key West puts on a great show, down at the Truman Annex Waterfront. Take a look at new boats from dealers that come from all over the Florida Keys. There's also an impressive avenue of boat vendors down which you can stroll for hours. Anglers can get lures, clothing, rods, reels and more.
There's live music, food, drinks, and beer all weekend long. The Key West Boat Show coincides with the Yahama Professional Kingfish Tour. The weigh-ins for that are Friday and Saturday at 3. You also get to see a Search and Recovery Demonstration by the U.S. Coast Guard on Saturday at noon. How much fun is that?
If you have kids, bring 'em because there are some great activities for them. They can take mini fishing workshops, upon completion of which they get a kids' rod and reel and tackle box. There are enough for 800 kids to get these. The workshops are :
- Responsible Angler
- Bait & Tackle
- Knot Tying & Equipment
It's free admission, lots of parking, and the hours are: noon to sunset on Friday, Saturday 9 to 5 and Sunday 9 to 3. This Key West Event benefits the Key West Rotary Club's scholarship program.
